Ajith Kumar is one of the biggest stars of Tamil Cinema and craziest in Indian Cinema with massive fan following. The star is struggling with underwhelming films and post a disaster like Vidaamuyarchi, he has come up with highly anticipated Good Bad Ugly, in the direction of Adhik Ravichandran. Mythri Movie Makers are debuting in Tamil with this high budget film. Let's discuss about the film in detail.
Plot:
AK (Ajith Kumar) is a huge gangster, known as Red Dragon. He decides to leave everything and surrender himself to Mumbai Police. He gets life imprisonment and for seventeen years, he doesn't meet his family. His wife Ramya (Trisha Krishnan) wants him to change his past and return to their family, as a normal man. His son, Vihaan, on the other hand wants to meet him and everyone hides AK's real identity.
His son asks him to come to his convocation and AK fails to fulfil his wish. Vihaan demands his presence for his 18th birthday and AK takes permission for early release. By the time, he returns to his family, Vihaan is arrested in a drug case. AK has to become Red Dragon again to bring justice for his son. How does he achieve it? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis:
Ajith Kumar did his best in an eccentric character and after a long time, he looked like enjoying his eccentricities as well. He delivered a complete active performance in this movie and it looked refreshing to see him like this. His different looks and styles give huge highs to fans.
Trisha, Simran slightly over acted in their roles. Arjun Das did his best in a dual role. All other performers did their best within the scope provided in the script. The action sequences could have been designed better in the first half. The second half slights drags the thin storyline to exasperating lengths.
Still, Ajith Kumar carries the film on his shoulders with his magnetic screen presence and apt performance. His different avatars and throw back to old cult films work big time for his fans. Also, the elevation scenes work within the story, yet few feels like over stretched.
Adhik Ravichandran needed to concentrate on writing a bit more innovative and creative story for everything to work big time. While the movie works due to the big star's energetic presence it could have been even better with better writing.
In Conclusion:
Movie works as a pure fan service but needed a little more story to become even better.
